Osteoporosis doesn’t mean you stop doing what you love.
It means you train smarter.
Medical research shows that strength training — including deadlifts, squats, shoulder presses, and impact training — can increase bone density.
But most strength training programs don’t target the specific anatomical sites where bone loss and fractures actually occur.
This one does.
What Makes This Program Different?
The Total Fit & Rehab Osteoporosis Program brings laser-focus to the areas most affected by bone loss:
- Neck of the femur
- Lumbar spine
- Other high-risk skeletal sites identified on your DEXA scan
You are guided into precise loading positions — using weights or body weight — that specifically stimulate the affected bone at the correct angles.
At the same time, the program builds surrounding muscle tissue.
Why that matters:
- Muscle acts as protective cushioning in a fall
- Muscle stimulation increases circulation
- Muscle activation supports osteoblast activity (bone-building cells)
Stronger bone + stronger muscle = reduced fracture risk.
How It Began?
In 2015, rheumatologist Dr. Dmitry Karayev asked Jeremy Gateman, a certified sports therapist with decades of experience to develop the groundbreaking LIFTMOR study demonstrating that high-intensity strength training could build bone density with Jeremy Gateman. Jeremy had 30 years of experience as a certified sports therapist specializing in spinal rehabilitation, Jeremy developed a structured program specifically for patients with osteopenia and osteoporosis.
At the time, no such targeted strength protocol existed. He has been refining it for nearly a decade.
Does It Work?
Clients begin with a baseline DEXA scan. After 6–12 months, they retest.
Many clients — including those not taking medication — have shown:
- Increased bone density
- Increased muscle mass
- Improved T-scores
- Reduced fracture risk
Some clients arrive with severe osteoporosis. Within months, measurable progress begins.
And perhaps most importantly: When clients see improvement on their follow-up scan, fear shifts to confidence. They return to skiing. Running. Hiking. Living.
Is This Program Right for You?
This program may be appropriate if you:
- Have osteopenia or osteoporosis
- Want to avoid medication due to side effects
- Are taking medication and want to strengthen your body further
- Want long-term structural strength, not just short-term intervention
There is no single treatment strategy for osteoporosis.
Strength training provides systemic, long-term benefits for the entire body.
What the Program Involves?
- 50–60 minute sessions
- Twice per week
- Targeted home exercises encouraged
- Typical course: 12 months
Osteoporosis is a chronic condition. After your initial treatment period, you may:
- Transition to a customized maintenance program
- Continue at a reduced in-office schedule
- Maintain independently with monitoring
Follow-up DEXA scans are recommended.
How This Differs from Physical Therapy?
In-Person or Virtual
The program is ideally delivered in person.
Virtual sessions are available for clients outside Los Angeles.
